Fourth Sub-forum of Global MOOC Conference held


MOOCs: "Learning Revolution” for Better University Education, the fourth sub-forum of the 2020 Global MOOC Conference, was held successfully on December 10th, from 8:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.

The forum, which was composed of two keynote sessions and one panel session, saw a vibrant discussion among guest speakers regarding the strategies, policies, and successful cases of online education and MOOCs, the standardization of MOOCs for global collaboration, online education practices in coping the outbreak of COVID-19, the revolution of learning and higher education, and the development and application of new educational technologies.

During the first keynote session, Yang Zongkai, President of Xidian University, Danielle George, Professor at the University of Manchester, and Ganbat Danaa, Professor at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, shared the experience in their respective countries in advancing online education and MOOCs. The second keynote session focused on successful cases of online education and MOOCs. Xu Xiaofei, President of the Harbin Institute of Technology, introduced the role that the Chinese university MOOC associations had played in promoting the innovative application of MOOCs; Wu Fei, Professor at Zhejiang University, shared online education for AI by collaboration between universities and industry; John Mitchell, Professor at Stanford University, presented the online education experience Stanford University had amidst the pandemic this year.

The panel session was hosted by Li Xiaoming from Peking University. Representatives from Tsinghua University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, the University of Bordeaux, the University of Strathclyde, Chonnam National University, and the University of Nairobi exchanged opinions regarding the global collaboration of online education in the new normal status after COVID-19.
