Tsinghua University female foreign experts participated in “Reception for Women from China and Abroad In Commemoration of The March 8th International Women's Day” at the Great Hall of the People
On the afternoon of March 7th, seven female foreign experts from Tsinghua University were invited to the Great Hall of the People, to attend “Reception for Women from China and Abroad In Commemoration of The March 8th International Women's Day”.
Seven long-term female experts from Tsinghua, coming from four countries, joined the event, including Ms. Melanie Elizabeth Koenderman, Associate Dean of the Schwarzman College, Prof. Patricia Buckley Ebrey from the Schwarzman College, Ms. Megan Amanda Steffen from the Institute for World Literatures and Cultures, and Ms. Wang Gelin from the School of Pharmaceutical.
Currently, there are altogether 50 long-term female foreign faculty and staff members in Tsinghua, which accounts for 23% of all long-term faculty and staff members. Female faculty and staff members come from 15 countries, including the United States, Britain, Germany, Japan, South Korea, India, Iran, etc. They serve in 19 departments, including selected young scholars of “Thousand Talents Program”, as well as professors, associate professors, postdoctoral, language teachers, researchers, and administrative staff. They make a positive contribution to the Tsinghua’s international development, exchanges and cooperation.
